KC-LAGUNA GEMS ACCOMPLISHED 2009 PAMASKO PROJECTS WITH A BANG

On four separate occasions, KC-Laguna Gems were able to make 150 Pondo ng Pinoy kids, more than 20 selected indigent families, 10 harelip patients and 7 cataract patients, and more than 200 less fortunate kids happier this Christmas.

Last December 16, KCLG donated toys, slippers and t-shirts to kids of Pondo ng Pinoy during their Christmas party hld at the Mothr of Good Counsel Parish in Chrysanthemum Villag. Th President and the Committee on YCPO handed oveer the said gifts.

December 23 was a very memorable day for some indigent families in nearby villages in San Pedro, Laguna as the Committee on Community Service spearheaded the "Pamasko ng Pamilya" project at the Daycare Center of Chrysanthemum Village also located in San Pedro . More than twenty selected indigent families enjoyed P1,000 worth of Noche Buena baskets consisting of spaghetti noodles, meat sauce, cheese, fruit cocktail, condensed milk, all-purpose cream, sugar, coffee, bread, chocolates, and a lot more. The said families were meticulously screened - most of them were jobless due to physical impairment or health reasons; source of income depended on menial jobs like lavanderas, carpenters, etc. ; hand to mouth existence.

In line with the said project, Noche Buena baskets were distributed on December 24 to ten harelip and seven cataract patients, our beneficiaries for surgical operation.

On December 29, KCLG ladies in their midnight blue t-shirts with matching Santa hats, proceeded to San Roque Elementary School, one of the most devastated area of Typhoon Ondoy in San Pedro, Laguna. More than 200 children were eagerly waiting to participate in the "Maligayang Pasko Mula sa Kiwanis", a project sponsored by Division 3 of California, Nevada and Hawaii District, KC Philam -Glendale, KC Glendale, KC La Canada, KC Greater Island Park, KC Buklod ng San Pablo and KC Laguna Gems, in coordination with Barangay San Vicente Chairman Norvic Solidum. The YCPO affair was made livelier with Jollibee Mascot, games, and Jollibee treats and prizes.
